Welcoming Photographer Philip Montgomery to ATRBUTE

We are so excited to welcome photographer Philip Montgomery to ATRBUTE!

Philip Montgomery (b. 1988) is a Mexican-American photographer whose work examines American politics, culture, and society. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker. In 2018, he was the recipient of the National Magazine Award for feature photography for his work chronicling the opioid epidemic. He has also received awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International, American Photography, and the National Press Photographers Association. His work has been exhibited at the International Center of Photography in New York, Foam Museum in Amsterdam, Saatchi Gallery in London, Aperture Gallery in New York, Les Rencontres d'Arles in France, and the Galerie du Jour - Agnès B in Paris. His work is part of the permanent collection at Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation. American Mirror, his latest monograph published by Aperture, is a decades-long chronicle of the country's historic struggles. A large-scale survey of his work will be on view at the Deichtorhallen Museum in Hamburg, Germany in fall 2025. He lives and works in New York City.
